What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your actions and preferences over time. We use cookies and similar technologies to make our site work properly and to understand how it is used.
Types of Cookies We Use
Essential cookies
Required for the website to function — for example, remembering your cookie consent choice and keeping your session secure. These cannot be turned off.
Analytics & performance cookies
Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where they come from. These are only placed with your consent.
Functional cookies
Remember your preferences (such as service type or postcode entered in the quote engine) to make your next visit easier. Placed with your consent.
Third-party cookies
Set by services we integrate with — principally Stripe for secure card payments. Stripe's cookies are essential for checkout to function.
Cookies We Set
- cookie_consent — stores your consent choice (essential, expires after 12 months).
- Session cookies — keep you logged in to the engineer, landlord or agency portal while you use it (essential, deleted when you close your browser).
- Stripe checkout cookies — enable secure card processing during booking deposits (essential for payment).
- Analytics cookies — only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.
Managing & Deleting Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you before they are stored. Disabling essential cookies may stop parts of our website from working. To withdraw consent for non-essential cookies, you can clear the cookie_consent entry in your browser and choose to reject on your next visit.
Third-Party Services
Our payment provider Stripe sets its own cookies during the checkout flow. You can read Stripe's cookie policy at stripe.com/cookies. Any other third-party tools we add will only activate after you give consent via our cookie banner.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add or change cookies. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
